One of the goals at Therapediatrics is to look at helping the whole child. Clinical therapy is always beneficial but there are additional activities that when combined with traditional therapy can help children increase their confidence and reach their potential.

Therapediatrics is expanding services to help families reach their potential by adding yoga classes by Alison Gildemeister. Between school, work and home the balance between our physical and emotional lives can be lost and we can have difficulty regulating stress. Yoga gives children the opportunity to build confidence, feel a sense of community as well as regulate their stress response system. We are excited to have Alison’s unique perspective in providing specialized yoga classes for children.
Kids Yoga for Anxiety and Depression
Designed to help children regulate their stress response system.
Yoga postures and controlled breathing techniques can improve mood and functioning. Yoga for children with anxiety and depression gives children the opportunity to:
- Build Confidence
- Release Tension and Stress
- Feel a sense of community
- Learn to control their breathing
- Practice calming visualization technique
And most of all have fun!

Yoga for Kids
Designed to help children strengthen their mind-body connection.
Yoga for Kids are classes that introduce children to yoga in a fun and playful atmosphere. Your child will learn a series of poses intended to teach kids to connect with themselves through their breath and mindfulness techniques. This class will help children to:
- Boost Self-Esteem
- Develop Focus and Concentration
- Enhances Balance and Coordination
- Increase Self-Awareness
- Supports Social and Emotional Growth

Parent and Child Yoga
This class is designed for toddlers to move!
Parents and children will learn yoga postures and breathing techniques in a fun and engaging way. Parents can practice with their children in a safe environment. Yoga can help toddlers to channel their energy in a healthy manner. This class will help children to:
- Learn to Channel Energy in a Healthy Manner
- Increase Balance and Coordination
- Develop Imagination
- Improve Emotional Well-Being

Ages: 3-5 (with parent)
Alison Gildemeister began practicing yoga regularly in 2002. She completed her 200 hour RYT at Forever Om and is a registered children’s yoga teacher. Alison looks to help other discover their potential and find their inner peace through yoga practice. Alison also holds a B.S. in Nutritional Science and a Master’s degree in Health Education. Children who have difficulty with fine motor, sensory processing, and other issues can often struggle with keyboarding and technology. As our society advances technologically these are skills children need to have to succeed at school and in the community. Our partnership with Putterbugs allows children to increase their skills and confidence in developing these important skills in an environment that supports each child’s unique needs.
