Amanda graduated from Illinois State University with a bachelor’s in Speech Language Pathology and from Saint Louis University with a master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She holds a certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, is licensed in Illinois and is a credentialed early intervention provider. Amanda has over 15 years of experience providing home-based and clinic-based therapy to young children. She has a special interest in working with toddlers and preschool-age children with motor speech disorders, phonological and articulation disorders, picky eaters/feeding disorders, and language disorders.
As a recipient of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s Award for Continuing Education, the “ACE award”, Amanda constantly seeks stimulating learning and training opportunities to further expand her knowledge of communication and feeding disorders. Amanda is recognized by Apraxia Kids for advanced training and expertise in Childhood Apraxia of Speech. Amanda is trained in Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets (PROMPT), Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC), Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), and Kaufman protocols. She is fluent in sign language. Amanda has a deep passion for helping young children communicate.
When not working, Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband, three young children, and their new puppy. You can often find Amanda and her family enjoying the outdoors, whether it be in their backyard or at a local park, beach, or forest preserve.
