Laurie Longfield is a Licensed Professional Counselor who earned her Master’s in Professional Counseling from The Illinois School of Professional Psychology. She earned a second Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University. Laurie is a counseling professional with over 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, teachers, administrators, and parents. Laurie was a school counselor in the Chicago Public School system for 14 years where she provided mental health counseling assessment and intervention to elementary, middle school students and their families. Laurie is a friendly and approachable therapist that brings compassion, empathy, and authenticity to every child, pre-teen, teen, parent, and family member she works with. Laurie is dedicated to restoring confidence in her clients to lead them to an empowering and fulfilling life. Laurie is a practiced and experienced counselor familiar with a wide variety of counseling strategies to assist children, adolescents and in overcoming behavioral issues and obstacles to be able to reach their goals. She believes that change occurs through a caring and trusting relationship cultivated by empathy, respect, and understanding.

In Laurie’s free time she enjoys going on adventures with her two young daughters, backyard fire pits her husband likes to build, fun with her Maltese dog Parker, traveling, photography, and singing Broadway show tunes!
