In Person and Telehealth

My name is Rhonda Baldwin, and I am honored to be working in the field of speech language pathology that I have enjoyed for over 22 years. I have extensive years of knowledge and experience
working with preschoolers and school-age children from kindergarten through high school within parochial schools, public schools and within the clinical setting.

I have a true passion in not only working with children, but also in partnering with families to develop collaborative plans and approaches to gain optimal communication skills. I graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Disorders and a Minor in Multicultural Studies, and with a Master’s Degree from the University of Massachusetts
at Amherst in Speech Language Pathology. I hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association, and am licensed in Speech Language Pathology in the state of Illinois.

Within the field of speech language pathology, I have special interests in working with children and adolescents in phonological and articulation disorders, non-verbal communication, processing disorders and pragmatic-social language delays. I also have expertise in supporting families through the special education process from the evaluation process to the development of an Individualized Education Plan.

In addition, I specialize in providing comprehensive diagnostic evaluations to provide families a true representation of their child’s communication abilities in order to develop the most effective plan for treatment.

When implementing therapy services, I utilize multi-sensory approaches to develop speech and language skills with each of my clients. I am trained in the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), and utilize research-based programs, including Color My Conversation, Expanding Expression Tool, Story Grammar
Marker and Everyday Speech.

When I am not working, I enjoy time with family and friends watching movies, playing miniature golf, trying new restaurants and visiting my home state on the East Coast.
