Hi! I am Shane and I take a holistic and goal oriented approach in treatment sessions that centers around play. Understanding the importance of the therapeutic relationship and promoting skills that carryover into everyday life, I take time to get to know each child to create an individualized program that suits the goals we are working towards. This means that I incorporate community, family, personal interests, and values into our therapeutic goals. My sports-exercise background integrates well with my play based approach.

My history of working as a hand therapist, makes me uniquely suited to work with upper extremity conditions and improve fine motor coordination with my clients. The experience of working as a personal trainer for the last 10 years, has also enhanced my ability to make functional exercises fun and effective. Notable athletic certifications include a Certification in Applied Functional Sciences and Animal Flow.

I completed my undergrad at the University of Dayton and received my Master’s of Occupational Therapy from Midwestern University. Prior to going back to graduate school, I worked with children and adolescents as a youth minister and sports coach.

Recently I moved to the Northern suburbs with my wife and dog, where we look forward to being a part of the community. In my personal time, I enjoy exercise, music, hiking, and reading.
